attended TimeOut Magazine's yearly event at The White Rabbit, harding road.
Bintan Lagoon Resort sponsored the grand prize! haha! and here's a photo of me and the lucky winner from AXN~
okie i was very tipsy~ so pardon me~ a couple or too much of campagne's fault.
after that we went to dempsey and had dinner!
ben & jerry was the choice~
we had dessert before our main course! omg! 6 scoops or more i couldnt remember~
and we shared 2 pizzas and 1 main course of sandwich~ super full! and super tired and super tipsy!

yesterday! friday i went for.... Charles and Keith warehouse sales!!
and our results are~
me: 2 pair of shoes
aunt: 2 pair of shoes
ima: 5 pairs of shoes!! and one clutch!
in total was $170. omgzz!!
it was crazy~ we had to queue up for half an hour before we got inside the warehouse and we spent an hour inside~ okie... wanted to shop more but the crowd was crazy and it was really hot! but all was good! i was happy i got my nice shoes at good price! weak point of a shoes freak! =D

it was disappointing as the hot cakes was different and not as tasty. i guess it was overcooked or the ingredient was of wrong portion. the hot cakes was hard to chew. the harsh-brown was soggy and the sausage patty wasn't cooked well. I tot of complaining, but just let the idea go. i was tired and there are a couple of things on my mind troubling me then my not so perfect mac breakfast.
by the way the other time when i complain to mac, they sent me a coupon for sausage muffin. and the few following week the response was promptly when i called.
this few nights when i was sleeping, i miss flying. i miss Tokyo and i miss new york the most.
ima printed out a couple of really nice photo i took at Tokyo Disneyland. and pasted it outside the wall of my room. i looked at it and felt like crying. i miss those times.
i couldn't believe i actually survived the too boring training period at japan narita. where there is no radio, no TV, basically my only entertainment was shopping and my classmates. and most of the time was spent mugging my too thick aeroplane and emergency notes... but i miss it.
i miss the time where i could feel snow and wear thick junky winter clothings and out shopping like crazy at forever 21 and charlotte russes and coach.
i miss wearing the JAL uniform although the size i took was too big for me, i still look smart. i miss the enviousness i see in other girls eyes when i tell them i was working for JAL, although my response to them is "it's a shitty job".
i still remember when i was sitting at T1 after a flight waiting for dongz to pick me up. a girl of my age or younger than me, looked at me for really long, probably hoping to be just like me. but i wanted to tell her its not glam at all.
then i thought of those scary times when i was so tired and bone skinny becuz of the job. the time when i fainted on the aircraft. those scary times woke me up to reality.
at SQ, you will do cabin duties (serving) when you are a junior, and then move on to galley duties (kitchen + cabin) when you are much senior. in fact they are lucky as the guys are usually doing the galley duties. whereas JAL has got almost all girls/woman/bitches/aunties so we have to take turn. and very very sway one, usually is junior or foreign crew that kena the nasty duty (galley).
i remembered once when i was at 747 aircraft doing the double galley duty job and it was my first set of flights. nobody helped me. the other singaporean crew was doing business class duties was in front of the aircraft. and i was alone. (the whole flight has got only 2 singaporean crew, it was a newyork-sao Paulo flight)
the sad thing was. nobody helped me. it was snowing outside but i was sweating like crazy doing the meal counts as i was running to & fro the 2 galley.
anyway there were lots more other nightmare. i just felt like mentioning one for the moment.
i miss the job. but i definitely dont miss working with japanese. cuz they sucks big time, just like some of the people i am working with now.

yeah goodbye to curly hair! love it but i guess not now. perhaps 1 year later....

i love janet shop's rebonding. it only take 2 hours!
and now my granny says i look like cleopatra~ =D
and dongz says i look like cat! hmmm...
whatever it is... i guess straight hair is much more easier to maintain. curl hair, you gotta put loads of hair stuff on you hair and its so lechey when i gotta wake up early every morning for work.
janet's shop Kempt is located at plaza park royal hotel. =D its my second time there. it was recommended by the spa friends. imagine almost every girl at the spa goes there for rebonding! see how good they are.
darline's rebonding was done at janet's place also. 2 months back. and now she is doing treatment to make her hair look EXTRA silky! lol

the oh-so-delicious omu pork cutlet curry rice is simply too irresistable!

Peach garden, OCBC center's excutive club, 33rd story was where the dinner was held....
I was rather bored as i didnt know anybody at the table except for dongz la! so i did what i love doing most, snapping photos in a discreting manner. Nobody realise though and i was having fun =D
before i go to the courses, here are the set-up...
Check out the chinese style set up~
It was a very traditonal chinese restaurant. the furnitures are very oriental. the lighting was dim and the atmosphere is very much like a dim sum restaurant you see at a hong kong drama.
see the giveaway, i tot its some xmas cake put its actually a tao sa piah~ i open it up to check it out when dongz was busying talking to his friends, or was he downstairs having smoking break.... cant remember, a couple of time i was alone though~
I love this! wasabi prawn roll!! very nice!! its like wasabi mayo~ spicy and yummy!
Steam fish was nice~
There was roast chicken but i forgot to take photo also, moreover its not very nice, so heck la. lol
Veggie with sea cucumber and a piece of i think abalone veggie.
this was so so~ by then i was like super full liao! so many courses~ and i kept drinking no-gas coke! lol
anyway the following is my favourite of the whole wedding dinner course!

its orh-bee-bur (black glutinous rice) with vanilla ice-cream on top and there were coconut flesh at the side! damn nice! i finish the whole thing even though i was really full!

here's my gradient! =D so into gradient recently at photoshop when doing flyers, i wan them on my nails!
my feet~ a nice shade of xmas season red with shimmer~ loves it. and jerlyn (my manicurist) says my skin become softer. and was asking me if i put on lotion. my reply was: yes! every night! i am so hardworking recently i put on this bodyshop strawberry moisturiser for hydration! apparently its working well! =D
hui did the same gradient like mine too after looking at the beautiful effect~ but her nails are like baby's nails, so small, the manicurist was really detailed and careful when doing her nails.
its us... but i look really tired~ yeah tell me about it! work makes me tired!
talking about flyers and work. i just need some of your advice, place it on the tagboard, i need your views.
at a marketing point of view, what is the main idea of a flyer? To raise awareness for some thing right, be it a promotion or event. Yes to raise awareness.
FYI, for a freelance designer to come up with a flyer, minimum you need to fork out 150! and that is call cheap!
Sometimes i felt that my photoshop skills is being abuse.
i learnt how to use photoshop when it was installed in my desktop at the office. i figure my way out by asking friends who know how to use it, and the must ancient way of trial and error! the begining stage was tough, a couple of times i almost give up but never as i know i will only taste the fruit after my hard work.
i dont mind doing a flyer that is going to help generate sales or indirectly generating sales. but often i find my skills being misuse and abused and put to waste.
so much frustration, often i thought, am i hire as a marketing exec or graphic designer? as a marketing exec, you dont need to know photoshop, but its a plus point if you do.
it sort of became my main duty of designing flyers, and lesser my time of doing up the other much more improtant initiative. so blame me for not writing that blog entries 3 times a week, blame me for being slow in completing that initiatives at the minutes.
now i know why the previous marketing mgr didnt waste much time on doing the flyers and immediately pass it on to that freelancer to do. its just a waste of her intelligence and talents.

this is me on the ferry ride to Bintan the week before last week. credit to flora, the intern working at the office. i wasnt aware she was taking a photo of me, but that smile on my face is weird as i definitely wasnt smiling for her, but maybe smiling cuz i am going away for a while.
me at the resort~ having the welcome drink, taken by flora also, she loves to take photo so so much and she loves the resort so so much! i see the 'last time' me in her, so happy and excited about everything. But i guess i got too used to my job scope already, travelling to bintan is like super norm for me. and i have decided to just keep the tann. haha!
the next day when i was back at the office from bintan, it was jo's last day. i am happy for jo, i think it's gonna be a brand new start for her, for good.
a mini surprise for her as it was already 4 plus when we reach the office and Sarene (my lovely manager) got her friend to buy a bouquet of flowers for her. she wast really surprise, i can tell, almost tears in her eyes, i can tell u.
its a sad thing she has left, cuz i am definitely gonna miss her so much. she sit just beside me, but we convey through msn so much and help me alot.
grace jo and i were like fork knife and spoon during our days at work, but then i see them leave the company one by one....
the card was make by me. a last min thing with my minimal photoshop skills.... but with heart =D

all thanks to my sweet darline for recommending the programme~
its me at Bintan Lagoon Resort! my room, before i head for the event's dinner~ so vain! hahah and i wanted to try out the montage~ =D
here's another montage~ our lunch the next day! haha but not at the resort. we were back at singapore by noon time and went straight to east coast to have lunch. the place is call Beach Hut, recommended by marie. I had grill fish~ food was nice but i guess i was too full from the overwhelm of food at bintan and suffering from minor sea-sick. =x

There are a number of office jargon if you realise.
I was never in an office environment before my current job.
I was working at esprit retail, walking around the sales floor and having a hella hard times during sales period!!
Then I was working at Raffles The Plaza - Amrita Spa, a hotel environement, service industry, hella great time having spa treatments and buying spa products.
Then I fulfilled my girly dream of being a stewardess JAL at and letting all girls envy~ Where I had a hella sad time surviving the job and pathetic japanese culture.
See, I never really type so much / check e-mail so much all my working life till NOW.
So today i am going to talk about office jargon... its like... i find it really funny~
When you inform your colleague of something, they'll go "ok noted" "noted with thanks" or "thanks. noted"
When you need help from your colleague or something, you go "FYA" which can either stands for, for your assistance or for your action.
Then there's more like FYI = for your information.
i was like why cant we go like. thanks, got it! or can no prob... or something more HUMAN than OFFICE. no wonder they call it official~
yeah, i am used to it by now, but i still refuse to reply like that, i just find it RUDE~

its me!
I know it's a little very late to only update now for a deepavali outing. cuz i was away for bintan again! and it was quarterly meeting on wednesday, so it was a rather packed week.
now... the updates of me and darline's deepavali shopping outing.
while waiting for darline to arrive, shopped the whole of fareast! but bought nothing. one of the snaps from fitting sessions. i bought this dress! loves it~
when my darline arrive, the first thing was to fill out tummy before the shopping-amazing race~
we went to level 5 at fareast, i cant remember the restaurant's name, i think its thai.
so darline is busy meddling with her phone while waiting for our food to arrive.
